Go Wild Adventure Holiday Camp 2025 (Yr 9-10)
$1,550.00
Dates: 10am Monday 10th July to 4pm Friday 12th July 2025 (this camp requires a minimum of 14 participants and a maximum of 17, so invite some friends along with you) The Camp can be counted as a Duke of Edinburgh Exploration if you are registered for the Award.
Sponsorship: If affordability is an issue for you please approach organisations such as The Far South Coast Landcare Association, Mumbulla Foundation, Rotary, Country Womens Association, Lions and St Vinnies for sponsorship. We encourage you to do this, rather than to miss out on this experience and we note that fire or drought affected students have been well supported in the past.
The Crossing has received past scholarship support from the Far South Coast Landcare Association and from the Bega Valley Shire Council which allowed us to halve the cost of this camp for local Bega Valley Shire students in some years, especially fire affected students. We thank those organisations for their previous involvement.

Course Description
Go Wild is a 3 day, 2 night canoe and hike journey from coast to mountain. Evening campfires, a train carriage bunkhouse and a remote tent camp are all features of the journey, including some off-track wilderness bushwalking and navigation. This is also a great chance to meet friends from other schools and get to know them as part of a supportive group travelling on an adventure together.
BYO lunch day one as the adventure begins on Monday at 10am at sea level at the end of River St in Bermagui at a turn-around area near the small concrete bridge (access to River St is beside the public school oval). Following a canoe training session and lunch there is a 4 hour canoe journey up the Bermagui River to The Crossing camp for afternoon expedition preparation. At camp The crossing supplies packs, tents and cooking equipment for the overnight tent camping bushwalk that starts on the following morning. Participants prepare an evening meal at the base camp from the food forest gardens, gather firewood, do some landcare in the tree nursery, where we grow trees for fire affected people, and prepare for the journey.
Day 2 hike from The Crossing Land into Biamanga National Park to a remote tent camp with adventure stories around the campfire.
Day 3 hike over the coastal mountains to see fire recovery from Black Summer. Meet parents at the end of Lyrebird Ridge Rd. Access from Green Tyrells Rd from the Bermagui Cobargo Rd.
Inclusions
hike support vehicle, equipment and food. Bring your own morning tea and lunch for day one.
