Land Leaders (Yr 10 – 11)

$500.00

Course Description

Land Leaders is open only to year 11 agriculture students nominated by their teacher.  This is a four day Shelterbelt Design Challenge scholarship camp.  Young people nominated to this camp visit the best designed shelter belts in the Bega Valley and Eurobodalla Shires and learn more about the benefits of shelterbelts by also assisting with shelterbelt development and Landcare work.  Finally students develop their own shelterbelt designs to present to their families or to members of a local showground, hall, or recreation field.  Final designs will be presented to Members of the Far South Coast Landcare Association at the AGM along with pictures of any designs that have been implemented.  Participants learn more about changes to wind patterns in their region and about design considerations for their specific site.
