Program description
This program is ONLY available for Bega Valley Shire Students due to part funding support from the Bega Valley Shire Council.
Come along on this Landcare Adventure Holiday Camp – meet new friends, have an adventure, help plant some trees and learn about landcare design for making cool, moist and sheltered areas.
The Landcare Adventure holiday camp starts with a 3 hour hiking journey to a remote bush tent site, exploring some rainforest as we go. We will cross the Bermagui River in the afternoon (to cool off and to reach our tent site). On Friday evening we will go for a twilight bush exploration, and tell stories around the campfire.
On Friday we will walk another hour and a half to The Crossing campsite where you will be staying in a converted train carraige bunkhouse on your second night – a great example of reusing something!
Canoe training at camp will take us to a landcare forest planting project along the river. At the camp we will also learn how to make some areas cooler and wetter to help better cope with drought and fire. We will also help make some yummy whole food meals and great snacks from our food forest garden.
The camp finishes with a canoe journey back to Bermagui on the Bermagui River on Saturday.
Learn Landcare & sustainability skills in a fun and community focussed environment.
This Landcare Adventure holiday camp is a perfect opportunity to make friends with young people from other schools in the Bega Valley Shire.
The games, campfires, canoeing and tree planting are great features of this camp.
All meals provided.

The Crossing Land Education Trust, 392 Nutleys Ck Rd Bermagui (but remember that the program begins at Bermagui Picnic Area, Scenic Forest Drive (next to Black Lagoon) and finishes at Bermagui Bridge Boat Ramp (opposite Bridge Motors/Bermi Bait and Tackle)

Refund Policy
Deposits are transferable for cancellations made more than 30 days in advance of program dates, less an administration charge of 20%. Cancellations with less than 30 days notice are liable for the full charge. Part refunds will only be considered before the program starts for circumstances covered by a medical certificate. If a participant has to end their adventure early for any reason, a refund will not apply. Participants may be permitted to join the program next year if they are eligible or transfer to another program of equivalent or greater value.
