Dean and Annette have spent the last twenty-five years nurturing The Crossing into the organisation it has become today. During this time, they raised their son Jye at The Crossing in the aptly named “Bus House” which is now the staff quarters. In their spare time Dean and Annette cross-country ski, surf, help with the youth stage at the Cobargo Folk Festival, and help manage a family farm in Victoria.  Dean is also a committee member for the Far South Coast Landcare Association and a Conservation Representative on the Biamanga National Park Board which is managed by traditional owners.

Would you make a great addition to our team?

The Crossing employs casual staff to support our work with young people.  Staff have Wilderness or Remote First Aid, current Working with Children’s checks, and relevant experience and qualifications which often include outdoor recreation, permaculture, landcare and gardening experience.

Occasional part-time contracts may also become available for multiple months and casual staff are usually approached first for these opportunities.  If you are interested in joining our team as a staff member please email your resume to stay@thecrossingland.org.au

Volunteering for a week or more @thecrossingland includes meals and accommodation in return for half days of assistance with time off to also explore the region.

Our Board of the Trust includes members with land management and conservation experience, outdoor leadership, education, counselling, business management, and marketing experience.

Dean and Annette are pictured here gifting The Crossing Land to the not for profit Trust with probono support from Andrew Warren.
